Where do I need to check enrollment options?

We have not verified a central enrollment link for these states. Legal authorization does not always mean a program is accepting enrollments. Check the regulator and self-exclude directly with each casino or betting app you use , then layer a gambling blocker and a bank gambling block on top. If you need the push, see what gambling is costing you per year first.

Frequently asked questions

What is gambling self-exclusion?
Self-exclusion is a formal ban you place on yourself: you register with a state program or an operator, and licensed casinos and betting sites must close your accounts, stop marketing to you, and refuse your bets for the period you chose. In most programs it cannot be reversed early.
Does every US state have a self-exclusion program?
No. 34 states currently run a statewide program. In states without one, you can still self-exclude operator by operator through each casino or betting app, and layer on blocking software and bank gambling blocks.
Does state self-exclusion cover offshore or crypto casinos?
No. State programs only bind operators licensed in that state. Offshore and crypto sites ignore them, which is why self-exclusion works best layered with a device-level gambling blocker and a bank card gambling block.
Which states offer lifetime gambling self-exclusion?
28 of the 34 statewide programs offer a lifetime or permanent option as of August 19, 2026. Illinois, Louisiana and Missouri offer lifetime exclusion only, with no shorter term.
What is the shortest and longest self-exclusion term in the US?
The shortest fixed term any statewide program offers is 1 year (Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, Washington, Washington, D.C., West Virginia and Wyoming). The longest fixed term is 10 years, offered by Arizona, Oklahoma, Washington and Wyoming; beyond that, programs offer lifetime exclusion.
Is self-exclusion free?
Yes. Every official state program is free. Be careful of third-party sites charging for enrollment — always sign up through the official state page.
